CONFIGURATION

P200 S

OPTIONAL PRESS

The Paradise ES1B is a mechanised line for opening the cappings on Layens frames before extraction. The advertised configuration combines the inverter-equipped uncapper, 2 kW steam blade heating, a stand and a stainless receiving rack for the frames.

This is a made-to-order unit from a legacy range: Paradise Honey's current website no longer lists the ES1B. The quotation therefore needs to lock down the exact frame geometry, layout, electrical supply and every included component. The P200 S cappings press is optional; neither the photograph nor the word “line” proves that it is part of the base supply.

01 · ACTUAL JOB

Repeatable uncapping without confusing the machine with the complete process

The operator loads frames into the slide feed and the inverter allows feed speed to be adapted to comb regularity. Legacy ES1B documentation describes adjustable cutting depth and a nominal 8–10 frames/minute, but that figure belongs to the machine and does not guarantee sustained honey-house throughput. Manual loading, wax and capping condition, temperature, distorted frames and downstream extractor capacity determine the real pace. Sunken or irregular comb may still need finishing with an uncapping fork.

02 · LAYENS COMPATIBILITY

A frame-format name does not replace dimensions and a trial with real frames

Before manufacture or adjustment, measure overall top-bar length, frame-body length and height, frame thickness and comb projection. Also check the spread between old, new and repaired frames. Paradise historically requested a hive box and several sample frames; this is the safe way to validate guides, support points, cutting depth and clear passage. An ES1B set up for one Layens geometry must not be presented as universal across every Layens variant.

03 · HONEY-HOUSE FIT

The bottleneck may sit after the blades, and cappings need an outlet

The machine opens cells; it does not extract, strain or separate the honey carried by the cappings on its own. Without a press, plan draining, a collection vessel, transfer and cleaning. With the optional P200 S, confirm the exact model, hopper, drains, power and parts included in the quotation. The published 2 kW applies to steam heating, not necessarily the combined demand of motors and auxiliaries. Size the extractor, buffer area and labour as well. For Calluna honey, uncapping does not remove thixotropy: validate a dedicated loosening and extraction system.

04 · BEFORE YOU BUY

Specify one complete configuration, not just a model name

Submit frame measurements and samples, request a dimensioned layout and bill of supply, and confirm voltage, phases, total current, steam generator, hoses, water, condensate and ventilation. The quotation should identify guarding, emergency stop, manual, wear spares, cleaning procedure, commissioning and the exact press if added. Test several representative frames before accepting the setup: correct adjustment prevents over-cutting, unopened cappings and jams.

GOOD FITRepeat Layens-frame work with controlled geometry and an extraction flow already sized for the output.
VERIFYMeasurements and samples, electrics/steam, guarding, drains and the exact bill of supply.
DO NOT ASSUMEUniversal compatibility, sustained 8–10 frames/minute, or an extractor or P200 S press supplied as standard.
