During swarm season, a well-prepared bait hive can turn into a productive colony. And having the right swarm lure often makes the difference between catching a swarm… or watching it fly away.

The Charme des Abeilles® paste attractant by Thomas is one of the most effective and trusted products among European beekeepers. Its exclusive formula based on natural essences emits a powerful scent that draws swarms to your trap.

It’s easy to use: spread a small amount of paste on a few frames and around the entrance of your bait hive. If you have old, dark combs, place them inside — they significantly increase the chances of success. Always set your trap high up, on a stable base, and shaded during the hottest hours of the day to avoid overheating.

Reapply every 8 days throughout the swarming period. And please, avoid placing traps near apiaries that do not belong to you, to prevent disputes.

Pro tip: once you’ve captured a swarm, move it to a quarantine apiary to monitor its health and apply a varroa treatment as soon as possible.
