Detalles de EPS Queen Trap System 10F + Entrance Reducer & Excluder

The Queen Trap System for Paradise Honey Brood Chambers is an effective solution to prevent swarming. Made from expanded polystyrene, it perfectly fits the brood chambers, including a plastic queen excluder and an entrance. It allows bees to pass through while keeping the queen isolated, controlling the population and optimizing honey production.

Main Advantages:

· Easy to assemble and use: Its intuitive design ensures quick installation and efficient management.

· Reduces beekeeping work: Decreases the need for frequent interventions.

· Increases honey harvest: Facilitates greater honey collection by keeping bees focused on their task.

· Prevents swarming: Effectively prevents the queen from leaving the hive, minimizing the risk of swarms.

Functionality:

At the beginning of the flowering and swarming seasons, the queen is transferred to the lower brood chamber. Before installing the Queen Trap System, it is important to close the hive's entrance to confine the queen. Once installed, the system provides a flight deck between the two lower boxes.

The queen is confined to the lower brood chamber, but bees can move freely through the system's queen excluder to feed her and care for the brood. Bees transport nectar and pollen through the new entrance between the boxes, storing honey in the upper supers. Swarming is effectively prevented, as the queen cannot exit through the excluder.

If the colony attempts to swarm, the bees will realize the queen's absence and return to their hive to continue collecting nectar and pollen. After the swarming season and when the queen resumes laying eggs, the hive's entrance can be reopened. If there is a virgin queen, opening the entrance facilitates her mating flights. Two weeks after opening, the young queen will start laying eggs. Sometimes, old and young queens coexist in the same hive. It is recommended to replace queens that attempted to swarm, and their daughters, before the next season to minimize future swarming problems.

The system allows for easy closure of the entrance with the Queen Trap System installed, facilitating hive migration.
