Pollen trap and Wasp shield Quarti®

This pollen trap allows you to collect pollen from bees when they enter the hive. In addition, it has the peculiarity of protecting bees against the Asian wasp, preventing them from accessing the hive. Both the pollen trap screen and the anti-wasp shield are removable.

Its particular shape allows it to be easily placed in all hives: Langstroth, Dadant US and Blatt whether made of wood, plastic, or polystyrene.

Characteristic:

Promotes cleaning. It has a considerable slot, before the pollen collection tray, which allows the bees to remove dirt from the hive.

With drones escape. Two side holes act as escapes for drones.

High Quality. It is made of food-grade recyclable plastic and assembled without screws, nails or toxic glues. In addition, it has a large roof that guarantees a good shelter from the trap of bad weather.

With tray to collect pollen. The tray has excellent ventilation and can hold up to 700g of pollen. It is straightforward to install, as it slides on guides and, once inserted, an internal "click" hook blocks its exit.

Equipped with an anti-Asian hornet shield. With the shield lowered, it allows the bees to enter and exit much more calmly, since the Asian or Asian wasp cannot attack the bees.

How is it installed in the hive?

The trap can be installed on a wooden bottom of a 10-frame hive (Dadant or Langstroth) using the guides, but also on a Nicot plastic bottom using an adapter (sold separately). Supplied with everything needed to mount it on the hive: 2 guides and screws for front fixing, 2 guides and screws for side fixing.

To familiarize the bees with the trap, the trap should be placed in the hive with the grid open for a few days, in this way it is easier for the bees to recognize a new step, reducing jams once the pollen catcher grid is lowered.
