Key Features:
• High-density material: Made of 2 cm thick brown polystyrene, it provides optimal insulation, essential for maintaining stable internal conditions in both warm and cold climates.
• Plastic frames: Includes 3 frames designed to fit foundation wax, ensuring stability and organization within the hive.
• Adjustable ventilation: Its sliding entrance and ventilation grids (at the bottom and front) allow for adjustable airflow according to the hive's needs.
• Removable bottom: Simplifies the introduction of bees and queen cells, making key tasks like inserting a queen into a queenless hive more efficient.
• Transparent inner cover: Features a specific opening for inserting queen cells, offering a clear view of the process without opening the hive.
• Non-slip feeder: Removable and spacious, it ensures continuous feeding without spills.
• Queen excluders: Protect the feeding chamber by preventing unwanted wax construction, maximizing efficiency.
Practical and efficient:
With just 100 grams of nurses bees (approximately one tablespoon), this mini hive can start the queen mating process. Its cubic design makes it easy to transport and clean, making it a hygienic and durable tool. It is perfect for beekeepers looking for a compact yet complete solution for queen rearing.
How to use it:
1. Assemble the frames, place the transparent inner cover and queen excluders in position.
2. Fill the feeder and close the hive.
3. Open the sliding bottom and introduce approximately 100 grams of young bees.
4. Gently spray water over the bees to prevent escapes and close the bottom.
5. After 40-50 minutes, introduce a mature queen cell or a young queen through the opening in the cover.
6. Spray the ventilation grid with water several times a day to maintain humidity.
In just 10 to 14 days, the queen will be mated and ready to be transferred or used in your hive. To extend her stay in the mini hive, you can replace the feeder with additional frames.
A versatile tool for your hives:
The APIDEA Mini Hive is not only compact but also provides complete control over queen rearing and mating processes. Perfect for professional and educational beekeeping, it offers practical and efficient solutions that ensure success in this technical task.
Optimize your beekeeping operations with a tool designed to make creating new swarms easier and more effective. Take your apiary to the next level with APIDEA®!
High-quality nucleus, built to last for many years, highly versatile and practical to assemble. We raise exceptional-quality queens in it, with a 28-day cycle and good genetics. It is intended for professional use (baby) in queen sales, and must be handled according to a set plan, just like in a professional breeding facility; otherwise, it can become too small and cumbersome.
The main drawback is that disinfection and cleaning can be challenging due to its many nooks and crannies.
