Honey Refractometer Calibration Set
Calibration set for refractometers with a 10 ml calibration liquid solution. Suitable for almost all refractometer models on the market.
Detalles de Honey Refractometer Calibration Set
The set includes:
• Calibration liquid (Clove oil): 10 ml bottle
• Calibration glass
• Pipette
• Screwdriver
• Instructions
• Suitable for refractometers with and without light
Importance of Clove Oil in Refractometer Calibration:
Clove oil is used in the calibration of honey refractometers due to its specific refractive index. This index corresponds exactly to a water content in honey of 19.6%, according to German legislation and the DIN 10752 standard. This allows for precise calibration of the refractometer, ensuring that measurements of the water content in honey are accurate.
Instructions for use:
1. Preparation:
• Ensure the refractometer is clean and dry before calibration.
2. Application of the Calibration Glass:
• Place the calibration glass between the refractometer lens and the plastic cover to protect the cover from direct contact with the clove oil.
3. Application of the Calibration Liquid:
• Using the pipette, apply a small amount of clove oil onto the calibration glass.
4. Calibration:
• Close the plastic cover of the refractometer and wait a few moments for the oil to distribute evenly.
• Adjust the refractometer according to the manufacturer's instructions using the included screwdriver, until the reading matches the refractive index of the clove oil.
5. Completion:
• Carefully clean the calibration glass and the refractometer lens after calibration to avoid damage.
Product Identification:
• EG Number: 284-638-7
• Main components: Eugenol, Beta Caryophyllen
