Universal electrical module to connect to the network or any type of battery and also to any solar panel between 5 and 32v.
A harp with no current is a grille. This is the part that puts it to work — and the part that decides where the electricity comes from.
Electronic module for Tartago electric harps: it raises the voltage to 1,500 V and powers up to five harps. It takes mains through USB, a 6 or 12 V battery, and any solar panel from 5 to 32 V.
01 · WHERE IT TAKES POWER FROM
The module adapts itself to whatever you plug in: mains through a USB connector, a 6 or 12 V battery with the cable supplied, or a solar panel delivering between 5 and 32 V — which is practically every panel on the market.
That flexibility is its whole point: if you already have a battery or a panel at the apiary, this electronics uses what is there instead of making you buy a complete outfit.
02 · HOW MANY HARPS IT DRIVES
With its 1,500 V it powers up to five harps. They are chained with ten-metre extensions, bought separately according to the distance between supports.
If you need more than five, the higher-voltage board reaches eight or ten harps — but that one leaves the battery to you.
03 · WHEN THIS ONE AND NOT ANOTHER
This module is the one you buy if you already have somewhere to take the current from. If you are starting from nothing and want a single harp running without thinking about it, the kit with its own solar panel saves you choosing components; and if you are setting the whole system up for the first time, there is a complete kit with harp, electronics, panel and tray.
04 · SAFETY
The module generates high voltage. Install it with the equipment disconnected, check that the harp is well fixed and out of reach of children and animals, and do not handle the wires with the system running.
The current is of very low intensity and its job is to kill the insect that touches two wires at once, but that does not make it a toy: treat it for what it is, a small electric fence.
05 · BEFORE YOU BUY
