Insulating cover for steam generators

01 · WHAT IT DOES

Less loss through the walls, fewer element cycles

The generator heats water to the boil and holds it there for an hour or more; the uninsulated metal tank gives heat to the air all that time and the element replaces it in cycles. With the cover on, the wall is wrapped, the generator reaches steam sooner and the element cuts in less often: less consumption and shorter restarts. Bienen-Ruck gives no saving figure and neither do we: it depends on the workshop and the hours.

02 · HOW IT GOES ON

With the generator cold and the zip unforced

Dress the generator with the zip open, centre the cover’s opening on the hose outlet and close the zip from bottom to top without pulling on it: it is a textile cover, not a shell, and a zip forced while hot or misaligned derails, which is the complaint of a French review from 2023. Fitted cold and without hurry it closes well. Cap and hose stay accessible.

03 · FOR WHICH MODEL

The 5-litre one only

It is cut for the Bienen-Ruck Dampfmeister 5.0, our 5 L steam generator (1286). It does not fit the 7 L one (2901), which has another body, nor generators of other brands.

The cover is supplied alone; the steam generator comes separately.
