Continuous cappings melter-separator by flotation: the wax melts above at 78-80 °C and floats, the honey falls to the lower tank at 35-40 °C and comes out fluid through its own outlet. Two water circuits with independent thermostats, 7.5 kW at 400 V three-phase. A 1,100 × 600 × 550 mm stainless tank, 125 kg. It does not run on single-phase.

INDEPENDENT OUTLETS: WAX IN BLOCKS AND BOTTLING-READY HONEY

1,100 × 600 × 550

MM INNER TANK; 125 KG

Continuous cappings melter-separator working by flotation, built by WET-Thermplate in Germany: the wax melts in the upper zone at 78-80 °C and floats; the honey, denser, falls to the lower tank working at 35-40 °C and comes out fluid through its own outlet. Two water circuits with independent thermostats, 4.5 kW above and 3.0 below, 7.5 in total at 400 V three-phase. A 1,100 × 600 × 550 mm stainless steel tank and 125 kg.

The bottleneck is not uncapping: it is what to do afterwards with the buckets of wax soaked in honey.

01 · HOW IT SEPARATES

Flotation: 0.96 against 1.42 grams per cubic centimetre

Wax weighs 0.96 g/cm³ and honey around 1.42: at the same temperature they separate by themselves. The machine uses that difference with two thermal zones. Above, a tube exchanger keeps a bath at 78-80 °C that melts the cappings as soon as they are loaded, and the melted wax floats. The bottom works at 35-40 °C, just enough for the honey to keep flowing to its outlet without spending time at a high temperature. Since both happen at once, you load cappings while you draw off product: there is no load, melt and empty cycle.

02 · THE TWO CIRCUITS

Separate thermostats, pumps out of the product

Each zone has its own closed water circuit with its heater and its circulation pump: you can raise the upper circuit without touching the honey, or work only with the hot zone when the cappings arrive already drained. The pumps are brass, but they sit inside the water circuit and never touch wax or honey. All the heating is insulated, so the consumption goes into the product and not into warming the building.

03 · MATERIALS AND CLEANING

Stainless wall to wall, and for more than looks

Tank, exchanger, wheels, legs and lid are food-grade stainless steel. That is not a finish detail: iron, zinc, brass and copper in contact with wax darken it for good. The inside is smooth and the geometry is worked out to empty without residue, so cleaning does not take half a day nor send dissolved wax down the drain. Four swivel wheels on stainless legs let you take it to the wash area.

04 · WHO IT IS FOR

From 200-300 hives upwards, and in line

It fits honey rooms and cooperatives processing cappings from two or three hundred hives upwards, and above all in line under an automatic uncapper, taking the outfeed belt and returning honey to the tank and wax ready to settle. Below a hundred hives, a solar melter or a steam boiler cover the case at a fraction of the cost (2560, 1826), and for chopped wax without honey, the water-bath boiler (3063).

05 · BEFORE YOU BUY

The melter-separator is supplied; the three-phase connection, block moulds and settling tank come separately.

✓ FITSHoney rooms and cooperatives with an automatic uncapper processing cappings from 200-300 hives upwards.
✕ DOESN’T FITRooms with single-phase 230 V: it needs three-phase. Under 100 hives: solar melter or steam boiler.
⚠ NOT INCLUDEDElectrical installation, moulds or settling tank.

⚠ PRECAUTIONS

A 400 V three-phase 50 Hz supply with a 16 A CEE socket, three phases plus neutral and earth: it does not run on domestic single-phase and an electrician installs it. Check the room’s supply before buying. Store the machine where it does not freeze, above 2 °C, so the water circuits are not damaged. Do not work with the lid open where there is a risk of splashing at 80 °C.
