01 · WHAT IT IS

A complementary feed, not a medicine

The base is sugars — glucose, fructose, sucrose — at 85 % dry matter, and on that base sit the natural actives: hop, ginger and thymol, with glycerine, methylene blue and distilled water as excipients.

It is a complementary feed, of the same family as a syrup or a stimulation paste. It does not treat disease, and diseases of bees are treated with registered medicines under the animal-health rules of each country.

02 · THE THYMOL

Why it is worth knowing

Thymol is also the active substance of several registered varroacides, and there lies the confusion to avoid: this gel is not one of them. Neither the dose nor the format nor the purpose are those of a treatment, and using it as one means leaving the hive untreated.

And one practical consequence: like anything carrying aromatics, it is given outside the harvest. What goes into the hive can end up in the honey.

03 · HOW IT IS USED

30-40 grams per hive

Apply 30-40 g per hive, so the 150 g tube covers three or four. The gel is put where the bees will find it and share it out.

Store between 10 and 30 °C and away from direct sunlight. Shelf life: 12 months from manufacture, so buy what you will use in the season.

04 · WHAT CAN BE SAID

No antibiotics, no preservatives

The formulation carries no antibiotics and no preservatives, which is an objective fact you can check in the ingredient list.

The rest — what a supplement of this kind does or does not do to a colony — depends on too many variables to promise from a product page. What you do control is the usual: stores, population and health management.
